Michelle Zacharias, a contemporary artist from Canada and now based in Kitakyushu, explores the possibility of coloured pencil or wax crayon in her drawings. Newer abstract work is inspired by the seasonal beauty of Fukuoka, such as Kawachi Fujien’s Wisteria Gardens. Zacharias will showcase several new smaller pieces as well as some larger, older works of art at 105 MaGallery across from Riverwalk in Kitakyushu. Although, Zacharias has been active with solo and group shows in Kanto and Kansai for more than the past ten years, this is her first solo show in Fukuoka. Zacharias is also the first woman artist and first international artist to exhibit at this new, upcoming gallery. Additionally, Zacharias will participate in an artist talk at the gallery on April 12 at 4:00 PM. No reservations are required.
