Ajisaka Poppy Festival

This beautiful festival grew out of the actions of a citizens group called the Ajisaka 21 Association, who as a means of revitalizing the local area, began planting poppy seeds on a member’s farmland. The best time to see these flowers is May, when as many as one million poppies spring into bloom. Come this month for a chance to pick up local goods and specialities from the area, as well as a children’s sketch competition on Saturday.
