Angela Verbrugge Quartet feat. Ray Gallon
Angela Verbrugge, a jazz singer and songwriter from Victoria, Canada, brings her vintage style and storytelling to Fukuoka for one night only. Named JazzTimes Readers’ Poll Best Female Vocalist in 2020, Angela has since toured extensively across Canada, Japan, Turkey, and Europe. Known for her nostalgic yet fresh interpretations of jazz standards from the Great American Songbook, Angela’s influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Julie London. She’ll be joined by New York pianist Ray Gallon, with support from Yuto Tagawa (bass) and Takashi Sugahara (drums).
