Art in Fukuoka Castle 2020

Fukuoka Castle is one of Fukuoka’s major historical spots. While its turrets have been reconstructed and restored, it’s stone walls are original. Art In Fukuoka Castle 2020 coincides with Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival, which is enjoyed by citizens and visitors from around Japan and overseas. This year’s Art In Fukuoka Castle features Yinka Shonibare CBE’s work, “Woman Shooting Cherry Blossoms,” which was recently acquired by the Fukuoka Art Museum. Along with this work, which celebrates women who have changed the world through creativity, the art of six local artists will also be displayed. Enjoy art full of energy and inspiration.

*This “beyond 2020 Program” event aims to share Japanese culture while promoting diversity and the importance of a global mindset.
