Twenty breweries from across the Chikugo area, one of Japan’s leading sake-producing regions, come together for an autumn tasting event featuring around 100 varieties. Producers from Kurume, Yame, Chikugo, Ukiha, Okawa, Tachiarai and Miyama offer everything from daiginjo and junmai sake to shochu, plum liqueur, and wines made with Kyoho grapes and kiwi fruit.
At reception, visitors receive a dedicated tasting cup and a booklet of 15 drink tickets, then move between brewery booths to sample what catches their interest. Additional tickets are also available, making it easy to try small pours and compare different styles at a relaxed pace.
Food snacks and local products are also on sale, adding to the casual atmosphere and making the event feel a little like a large-scale kakuuchi standing bar.
