Kurume Kasuri, a traditional cotton textile with over 200 years of history in the Chikugo region of Fukuoka, is known for its intricate production process. Once a year, textile studios across Chikugo City open their doors to the public for tours and direct sales of kasuri fabrics and fabric remnants. The event takes place in a peaceful rural setting, with free shuttle buses and rental bicycles available for convenient travel between locations. At the event headquarters at Kumano Ward Community Center, visitors can enjoy light meals made with local ingredients and shop for kasuri items and regional products. Rental bicycles (¥500 for 3 hours) are also available at the community center.
