January 10th is Seijin no Hi (Coming of Age Day). At Bayside Place Hakata, located within walking distance of Marine Messe Fukuoka, the “Coming of Age Day Commemorative Event” supported by Fukuoka City will be held. Events will be held at nearby Bayside Place featuring a performance by Nowa Daiko, a Japanese drumming group from Fukuoka Prefecture, a Shishimai (lion dance) performance to pray for good health, and free hot Zenzai for the first 100 people to arrive! New “adults” and the general public are welcome to participate.
