From the Heian period, this elegant annual festival sees Waka poets in traditional kimono sit along a stream amongst 6,000 plum blossoms composing poems. But there’s a catch – a cup of sake is set afloat upstream, and when the cup reaches them, they must finish the poem and drink! Secure your seat early!
