Dazaifu’s autumnal flower festival showcases thousands of pots of chrysanthemums. About 1,500 pots of chrysanthemums, including large chrysanthemums as large as a person’s face, and a wide variety of other chrysanthemums in full bloom, will be displayed in front of the main shrine, in the corridor and Tenjin Square, and seedlings will be sold. A total of more than 400,000 people visit the site during the festival period, and the sight of families visiting the Shichigosan Festival taking commemorative photos with chrysanthemums in the background is a typical sight of the season.
