Fukuoka City’s fashion industry is in the spotlight from March 8 ~ 23.
Kyushu’s biggest annual fashion event takes place in Fukuoka City this March, showcasing the local fashion scene with great lineup of events, fashion shows, and sales. The concept behind the event is to attract stylish visitors from both Kyushu and abroad, creating a buzz around Fukuoka’s fashion. This year’s motto is “Play! FUKU-OKA!”. A large selection of shops in Hakata, Tenjin, Daimyo, Yakuin and Imaizumi hold special sales and events during F.W.F, turning Fukuoka City into a massive playground for fashion. The 2014 festival mascot is Japan’s beloved dress-up doll “Licca-chan” (similar in popularity to USA’s Barbie) known as the fashion’s biggest fan in Japan! The main event, FACo (Fukuoka Asia Collection) is the grand finale to Fashion Week Fukuoka on March 23. There are plenty of events and bargain sales to delight in across March, and Fukuoka Now staff have selected a few of the highlights below.
F.W.F Opening Event
Fashion Week Fukuoka kicks off on March 8 at Hakata Station. Famous fashionistas appear on stage and more surprises.

The Fashion Summit is a chance to learn about the Fukuoka fashion industry from style icons and members of the local fashion community. This talk panel discussion happens at two locations on opening day of F.W.F.
