The citizens’ film festival in Fukuoka began in 1987 with the mission of “discovering unknown new young talents.” It’s a volunteer-driven event, planned and managed by local movie enthusiasts. This festival will feature seven films from Japan, Korea, Indonesia, and Hong Kong, including two that will be making their Japanese debut. Additionally, five of the films will be accompanied by talk shows hosted by the directors. These special two days, filled with Asian films complete with Japanese subtitles, will provide a unique cinematic experience. Tickets will be primarily sold through email reservations, so if you’re interested in attending, be sure to purchase your tickets early.
