Spring in Japan means cherry blossoms! Maizuru Park, known as one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Fukuoka City, has approximately 1,000 cherry trees of 19 species, including Someiyoshino, shidare-sakura, and yama-sakura in bloom on its grounds, attracting many visitors who love the flowers. During the Sakura Festival, the castle walls along the moat and the grounds are illuminated, attracting many flower-viewing visitors even at night. From 11:00 to 21:30 (L.O.), a gourmet area with many food stalls and kitchen cars too!
If you want to enjoy the cherry blossoms in their purest form, we also recommend the pay-per-view area where the historic sites are illuminated with special effects at night. ¥400 for one area, ¥1,000 for three areas, from 18:00 to 22:00 (last admission at 21:45).
