An ume festival will be held at Maizuru Park to celebrate the beautiful plum blossom (ume) season. Around 270 trees inside Maizuru’s plum orchard are scheduled to come into bloom as the city moves into the spring months. Enjoy a set of hojicha and a Japanese sweet (¥200) amongst the plum blossoms at the special pop-up cafe. Come in kimono to receive a cup of hojicha for free! Visitors can also rent Kimono for ¥2,000/1h (Reservation: Tel 092-707-3191)! Catch special monkey performances in the area too (schedule undecided).
