Set against the backdrop of Fukuoka Castle’s historic stone walls, Maizuru Park is home to a renowned plum grove. This picturesque haven features around 250 plum trees spanning 35 varieties, blossoming in vibrant hues of red, pink, and white. Annually, from early February, the grove becomes a sensory delight with the sweet scent of plum blossoms. During the peak bloom weekend, the park celebrates with its Plum Festival. Visitors can savor warm beverages and bask in the beauty of the blossoms, comfortably seated on benches adorned with red mats, creating an idyllic setting for plum viewing.
