The Fukuoka International Marathon, with a 78-year history of hosting numerous memorable races, will also serve as a qualifier for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo. Top athletes such as Kenya Sonota and Yusuke Nishiyama will compete for a spot on the Japanese national team. The 42.195 km course runs from Heiwadai Athletic Stadium to Ohori Park, through a loop in the southwestern part of Fukuoka City, and back to Kashii. Known for its minimal elevation changes, the course is considered ideal for achieving fast times. A total of 475 elite male runners, including 21 invited athletes, will take on the challenge.
