Fukuoka Marathon 2017

START: Nov 12, 2017 END: Nov 12, 2017

On Nov. 12 the Fukuoka Marathon will see approximately 12,000 runners race on a 42.195 km course from Fukuoka City to Itoshima City. Runners will surely appreciate the contrast of the two cities with dazzling sceneries along the course. A wheelchair race and fun run will be held, too. Information on traffic restrictions below.

Courses
Marathon
• Start: Tenjin area (Tenjin intersection, Watanabe-dori), Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City
• Finish: Itoshima City Koryu Plaza Shima-kan (Course certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations)

Wheelchair race and fun run
• Start: Tenjin area (Tenjin Intersection, Watanabe-dori), Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City
• Finish: Fukuoka City Museum area

Fukuoka City Museum special free entrance!
• 11/10 (Fri.) ~ 11/11 (Sat.): free entrance for marathon runners (present your running number at the door)
• 11/10 (Fri.) ~ 11/12 (Sun.): ¥200 discount to the “Empire of Imagination and Science of Rudolf II” exhibit for marathon runners (present your running number at the door). Discount extends to four other people with the runner.
• 11/12 (Sun.): free entrance to permanent and rotating exhibits for all visitors

Traffic restrictions
On Sun, Nov. 12 there will be traffic restrictions in place along the the city. There will be traffic regulations from 6:00~16:35 along the marathon course and traffic jams are expected around the event areas. Avoid bringing your private vehicles if you’ll be watching the races. Parking will be restricted, and parking on the streets are strictly prohibited.
