Initiated by Fukuoka City, the “Fukuoka Museum Week” project was created around “International Museum Day” (May 18), established to promote the role that museums play in our society. Fukuoka Museum Week offers free admission, discounted fees and special freebies at 18 museums throughout Fukuoka. Events such as talks, tours, lectures from well-known figures, and workshops will also be held at each venue during this nine-day event.
