Fukutsu City is currently holding a “Snapper Chazuke Fair” to spread the word about the city’s most famous seafood item, snapper. Chazuke is a simple Japanese dish made by pouring green tea, dashi, or hot water over cooked rice roughly in the same proportion as milk over cereal, usually with savoury toppings. Nineteen restaurants in Fukutsu City are offering an original chazuke with snapper, for lunch or dinner. This fair has been held since 2011 to boost interest in Fukutsu City. There’s also a stamp rally with lucky draw prizes including gift certificates. For a full list of participating shops, check the leaflet (Leaflet side A, Leaflet side B).
