French Symbolist painter Gustave Moreau (1826–1898) is best known for his works featuring mythological and biblical subjects as well as portraiture of powerful and beautiful females. Over 100 pieces on loan from the Gustave Moreau Museum in Paris are on display in this exhibition, including Moreau’s masterpieces The Apparition (approx. 1876), The Unicorns (approx. 1885) and sketches of Salome Dancing before Herod.
