Hakata Hankyu Asian Festival 2025
~

A popular annual event, the Asian Festival offers bold flavors and fresh herbs to help beat the summer heat. This year’s focus is on Thailand, a country where modern trends blend seamlessly with centuries-old traditions. Featured events include live Thai cooking demonstrations by an Australian chef now based in Chikugo—after honing his craft around the world—and a well-known Asian restaurant from Osaka.

The festival also features a lively street food section with favorites from across Asia, such as Taiwanese scallion pancakes (Shou Zhua Bing), Vietnamese banh mi, and pan-fried xiaolongbao. A colorful selection of retro-style Asian goods adds to the summer atmosphere. In total, 31 vendors will take part, offering a wide range of food and items from throughout the region.
