Let’s enjoy seasonal food and vegetables harvested by local farmers! Happening on Nov. 18 at Marine Messe, the “Hakata Jyoumon-san Harvest Festival” celebrates the 50th anniversary of local agriculture association, JA Fukuoka. “Jyoumon” means high quality in Hakata dialect – and as such, the participating sellers promise to provide local buyers with the highest quality food products. In addition to fresh food sellers, you’ll find an array of delicious Japanese dishes, such as okonomiyaki and yakisoba, at 20 food stalls. The stalls will make these dishes using fresh local vegetables and produce- a great chance to sample a wide range of Japanese foods. Popular TV character “Kamen Rider Wizard” will make an appearance along with a photo opportunity (11:00~, 15:00~). There is a free shuttle bus that runs every 20 mins after 9:20, between Chuo-ku and Hakata-ku. You can catch the bus from in front of Tenjin Soloria Stage, and in front of Hakata Station Center Building. One of the main goals of JA Fukuoka is to strengthen the consumer/farmer relationship within the local community, and this festival is a great example of this in action!
