Heather Brown Exhibition

START: Oct 1, 2013 END: Oct 20, 2013

Hawaii-based artist Heather Brown’s chief inspiration is the sea. It is not surprising that it appears again and again in her work; she is also keen surfer and master scuba-diver. Her prints bring to mind the iconic Japanese Great Wave off Kanagawa in their elegant simplicity but the warm, bright colours of Brown’s work betray the artist’s Hawaiian background. And, of course, she replaces the traditional fishing boats with surfboards. This is Heather Brown’s first tour of Japan. She will visit Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka before coming to Fukuoka. Her work is on show at Patagonia Fukuoka from now until Sunday Oct. 20, 2013 when Heather herself will be attending. There are original pieces available to purchase, and the artist will sign autographs for those spending over ¥5,000.
