The Saga International Balloon Fiesta is one of the largest hot air balloon competitions in Asia, in which more than 100 balloons gather from across Japan and overseas. Although it has been canceled this year, two fun events will be held for fans looking forward to seeing hot air balloons fly in Saga. “Ouchi de Balloon,” in which approximately 30 balloons will fly over Saga City in the early morning so that fans can watch them from their homes and on the city’s streets. Also, the traditional nighttime mooring of the balloons, La Montgolfier Nocturne, will take place in early November. A collaboration of music and the viewing of twenty-four balloons against the night sky will be live-streamed on TV and the internet.
