No plans on New Year’s Eve and visiting shrines isn’t your cup of green tea? The annual Huis Ten Bosch Countdown with its world class fireworks display and beautiful illuminations is an exciting way to spend your New Year’s Eve! The NYE party includes live music performances by artists including hitomi, Cheeky Parade and the HTB All Classic Music Cast (schedule undecided), dance shows by Gekidan Africa, MEYONCE and BIKO JACKSON (19:00 ~ 23:00) and other exciting performances, including fire juggling and fire eating by San Francisco’s “Fire Pixy”. Massive fireworks displays will wow the crowds with two shows – an early display at 18:00, and the New Year’s fireworks at midnight! You can make it a day trip, enjoying the attractions and traditional Dutch food during the day, and when night comes, the illuminations and grand-scale countdown. Traffic tends to be hectic, so plan transport in advance; popular options include a special direct train from Hakata~Huis Ten Bosch, or tour bus. Tickets vary in price (VIP package, accommodation package and transport packages avail.) and are available from the Huis Ten Bosch website, HIS, or at your local convenience store.
