Held since the 1500s, and recently designated a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The highlight is the parade of 14 ornately decorated, 5 m high floats built in the shape of auspicious symbols: carp, dragon, lion, etc. These are wheeled through the streets to the beat of taiko drums and vigorous chants of the handlers.
