Karatsu Yakimon Ceramic Festival

The tenth incarnation of this ceramic fair, which celebrates Karatsuyaki (a local style of ceramics over 400 years old), is centered around the theme “Food and Vessels of Engagement.” Exhibitions will be held throughout the town, including an exhibition of new works (at the former Karatsu Bank) and displays and sales by ceramic artists in the central area of Karatsu City. In addition, restaurants and eateries in town, including cafes in registered tangible cultural properties, will offer special menus in collaboration with Karatsu pottery artists.
