Koishiwara Spring Pottery Festival

START: May 3, 2023 END: May 7, 2023

Koishiwara is surrounded by beautiful nature and is famous for its ceramic kilns and artists. Fifty kilns participate in this festival in which you browse and shop for Koishiwara ware and Takatori ware with discounts of 20% or more. You can also chat with the potters and see their new works. Surrounded by mountains 1,000 meters above sea level, the Koishiwara area has produced pottery for about 350 years. It is blessed with red soil suitable for pottery and trees to fuel the kilns. There is a peaceful landscape of terraced rice paddies and houses with thatched roofs, and all of the kilns scattered along the national highway have a gallery. In the center of the village, there is a roadside station and a community exhibition hall so that you can take a stroll around the area.
