Iwataya is currently holding a Kumamoto Fair to support disaster recovery efforts following the heavy rain and landslides in the prefecture last month. The fair, which runs until 8/20, showcases the principal products of Aso City and Amakusa (both in Kumamoto) such as red beef steak plates and “amakusa daio” fried chicken. Kumamoto’s popular mascot “ Kumamon” also make special guest appearances on Aug.19 (Sun.) at 15:00 and 16:30.
