Eleven renowned yakitori restaurants from Kurume, one of Japan’s most competitive yakitori hotspots, will come together for a popular event featuring live grilling and sales of their specialty skewers. Last year, around 30,000 visitors attended this two-day event, with over 100,000 skewers sold. In true Kurume style, anything on a skewer, whether it’s chicken, pork, beef, or vegetables, is considered “yakitori.” Visitors can enjoy these skewers with draft beer, highballs, or local sake from the Chikugo region. The event also features a variety of stage performances, including taiko drumming and live music from local bands.
