Enjoy lively noh performances near Ohori Park! This year, the audience will be treated to scenes from two noh plays, Hashi Benkei (Benkei on the Bridge) and Sesshoseki (The Killing Stone). Hashi Benkei is relatively easy to understand, making it a good play to watch for those new to noh. Sesshoseki is a dynamic piece based on a legend of a mythical creature, the nine-tailed fox. The program also includes a popular kyogen (literally “wild speech” – a comic piece, very different to most noh performances) called Busu about iconic Buddhist monk Ikku.
