From November 2 to 9, 2025, Kyushu University will host Asia Week, a celebration of culture, learning, and connection under the theme “Building Bridges in Asia and Beyond.”
Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy a wide range of events, including lively seminars, SDGs Special Sessions, and the Asian and Oceanian Award poster competition showcasing the work of young researchers and students. This year, in addition to events at the Ito Campus, venues in downtown Fukuoka and the Ohashi Campus will also host events.
Highlights include a seminar on Laotian textile traditions with Fukuoka Prize and Arts and Culture Prize winner Douangdeuane Bounyavong, and a symposium with Seoul National University celebrating 60 years of normalized diplomatic relations between Japan and Korea. The week will also feature Indian cultural events, symposiums and meetings on international collaboration and study abroad opportunities, and film screenings with special guests. Various events will offer support in English and Japanese.
The program invites people from all walks of life to come together, exchange ideas, and explore the diverse traditions and innovations that shape the vibrant cultures of Asia and Oceania.
