A citywide event inviting visitors to discover iconic designer chairs while exploring Fukuoka. Selected from the collection of interior designer Keiji Nagai, who was based in Fukuoka, one chair is displayed at each of approximately 20 locations across the city, mainly around the Tenjin area.
Exhibits are spread across a variety of venues, including One Fukuoka Bldg., the Fukuoka Prefectural Museum of Art, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, and Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Framed as a “Chair Expedition,” the event encourages visitors to explore the city while encountering celebrated examples of furniture design. Original maps are available at each venue, and visitors who collect stamp stickers can receive limited-edition goods. Along the way, the event also offers a chance to engage with the history of design, architecture, and the city itself.
