This festival, held in the Nakasu entertainment district features teams of women wearing happi (Japanese classic short coats) and headbands carrying two traditional Japanese floats up and down the main streets of Nakasu. Also worth checking out is the temporary restaurant area atop a specially-built platform on Hakata River in Nakasu (near Canal City)– a part of the festival since 1976. Every night this week ~10/26 (Fri.) the yatai-style restaurants are open 18:00 ~22:00. Enjoy festival food stalls in a unique open-air venue, with live performances, karaoke, dance contests and the lively atmosphere of the Nakasu Festival!
