New Year Tea Ceremony

Partaking in a traditional Japanese tea ceremony is a must-do during your stay in Japan. However not many tea houses can communicate in foreign languages or offer guidance to non-Japanese. ‘Tea Ceremony with the Sheep’ organized by NPO Hearty Care Foundation, they welcome both beginners and foreigners to experience traditional ochakai (tea ceremony) in a small yojihan tearoom. Even if you’re not familiar with ochakai manners, or cannot speak a word of Japanese, you are welcome. A beginner friendly ceremony with detailed explanations and English via interpreter will be provided. It’s a great chance to discover one of Japan’s most unique and long-standing traditions. Oh, and about the title ‘Tea Ceremony with the Sheep’. 2015 its the Year of the Sheep – so that’s why! The event will be conducted in English and Japanese. Please dress in neat clean clothes and note that jeans not permitted. Be sure to wear or bring socks. Nothing else is required
