Okinoshima Island is considered to be holy, and to this day ancient traditions are kept alive on the island. The island is stooped in history, and over 100,000 pieces of ancient treasure have been found on the island, including mirrors, gold rings, armour and ceramics. Of these, approximately 80,000 have been registered as national treasures since their discovery. In this exhibition, many of the treasures will be on public display for the first time.
