Money can’t buy you love, but it can buy you a ticket to watch lots of Beatles tribute bands play in Saga! Celebrating 50 years since the Beatles’ debut, this unique event runs for nine days 10/13(Sat.)~21(Sun.) at Takeo Onsen, Saga. Beatles tribute bands, ranging from pro to amateur, gather to perform the hits of the universally beloved band on an outdoor stage, at a ryokan and concert hall. The event kicks off this Saturday (10/13 @ 14:00~20:00) with opening performances at a temporary stage near the Saga Prefectural Space and Science Museum. The following day, (Sun.10/14), Beatlemania will be in full throttle, with around 40 tribute bands playing throughout the day– band members ranging from school students to retirees! During the week (Mon. 10/15~Fri. 10/19) there’s live nightly performances at a ryokan and on the following Saturday (10/20) you can watch even more live Beatles music at a community center/cafe event! The finale event of “Onsen de Beatles” is on Sunday (10/21) when Tokyo’s best Beatles tribute band “The Parrots” take the stage. Most of the festival’s live performances are free to watch, except for the finale gig by “The Parrots” which requires entry fee.
