Peace Tea Ceremony

Eighty years after the end of World War II, a casual tea gathering will be held where participants can experience the Japanese tradition of tea ceremony and spend a moment reflecting on peace, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. On display at the venue will be a framed painting of the Nagasaki Peace Statue by sculptor Seibo Kitamura, who also created the original monument. The event will include a tea ceremony demonstration, hands-on experience, origami crane folding, and servings of Japanese sweets and tea. No prior experience is necessary, and support will be available in Japanese, English, and Chinese. Participants are asked to bring socks and a handkerchief.
