The international pickleball tour is coming to Japan for the first time—and it’s happening right here in Itoshima! Born on the West Coast of the U.S., pickleball is a fast-growing paddle sport popular in North America for its accessibility and fun pace. Age and experience don’t matter—anyone can enjoy it. This marks the debut of the PPA Tour in Asia, and Itoshima is Japan’s first-ever tour stop. A total of 1,232 players from Japan and abroad will compete, with ¥10 million in prize money up for grabs. In addition to matches on dedicated courts, the event offers hands-on experiences for beginners, making it great for families and newcomers. Expect food trucks too!
