START:Mar 8, 2026END:Mar 8, 2026
A seafood gourmet festival spotlighting local fishermen and the bounty of Fukuoka’s waters. The venue will feature hearty beachside-style grills and oyster roasts, tai-meshi (sea bream rice), seafood curry, fried fugu, and other dishes prepared with fresh catch. Sake that pairs well with fish and a variety of kitchen cars add to the lively atmosphere of a seaside market.
Hands-on programs offer opportunities to learn about the ocean and environment while having fun. Activities include crab fishing and sea urchin cracking experiences, crafts using recycled plastic, a fresh fish filleting show, mochi-maki (rice cake tossing), quiz contests, and talk sessions with fishermen. A free shuttle bus is scheduled to operate from JR Chikuzen-Maebaru Station.
