The History of Marie Antoinette Exhibition

History’s most notorious Queen of France, Marie Antoinette is still a source of fascination and debate today, some 200 years after her death. This exhibition at the Fukuoka Prefecture Museum of Art includes 120 items, including her dresses, belongings and paintings depicting the controversial queen. If you’re interested to learn more, attend the special Marie Antoinette Lecture by Yukiko Koyanagi from Institute Français on 5/5 (Sun.) 14:00 ~. The lecture will be held on the museum’s fourth floor and attendance is free but limited to 100 people (numbered tickets handed out from 13:00~). Finally, you can take part in a Marie Antoinette rose corsage making workshop on April 28 (from 10:30 ~, 14:00 ~ ) at the Museum’s 1F sculpture exhibition room. The workshop is ¥1,000 per pair, and will take 40 participants (20 pairs) at a time. Apply in advance by telephone: 092-715-3551.
