Masterpieces by the 17th-century classic painter Claude Lorrain, by 18th-century Rococo painters such as François Boucher and Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun (Marie Antoinette’s favorite portrait painter) or by 19th-century Academician William-Adolphe Bouguereau will illustrate the formation and transformation of the “Grande Manière” innate in the French paintings.
