Celebrate the new year and experience a traditional Japanese tea ceremony at the Japanese Garden in Ohori Park. “The Way of Tea” is part of a series of cultural experiences run by NPO Hearty Care Foundation to promote interaction amongst the international community. Enjoy the aroma and flavors of green tea, while meeting people from many different countries. It’s a great chance for those new to tea ceremonies to learn the rules and manners of this traditional ritual. All sessions are conducted in both English and Japanese by instructor Dairiku Amae, so foreigners and Japanese are welcome. You don’t need to bring anything, but no jeans or bare feet! Experience true “omotenashi” – a term expressing the spirit of Japanese selfless hospitality. This workshop is part of a series of Japanese cultural experiences “The Way of Japan” run by NPO Hearty Care Foundation to promote interaction amongst the international community.
