Tour de Kyushu 2024

The Tour de Kyushu, an esteemed UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) sanctioned cycle road race, will once again grace the beautiful landscapes of Kyushu. This thrilling event kicks off with a criterium at Kokura Castle, followed by three days of over 100km of daily racing through stages in Oita, Kumamoto Aso, and Fukuoka. Eighteen teams from Japan and around the world will compete.

Entering its second edition this year, the Tour de Kyushu is one of Japan’s premier cycling events. The race will traverse a variety of courses, from the stunning natural beauty of Aso to historically rich urban areas, offering new challenges and experiences compared to last year. Join us in celebrating this annual international sports event by watching the live streams of each stage, cheering at the main venue, and engaging with sponsor exhibitions.

Kokura Castle Criterium
Experience the excitement of a criterium around a special 1.8km loop near the iconic Kokura Castle keep in Kitakyushu, featuring 25 laps.
• 10/11 (Fri.)
• Distance: Approximately 45km

Oita Stage
A line race starting from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, passing through Yufuin and Chojabaru, completing two laps of the Hita city loop course, and finishing in front of Ohara Hachiman Shrine.
• 10/12 (Sat.)
• Route: Beppu City (Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University) → Yufu City → Kokonoe Town → Hita City (in front of Ohara Hachiman Shrine)
• Distance: Approximately 138km

Kumamoto Aso Stage
A breathtaking line race starting from Senomoto Rest House, passing through Aso Shrine and Hakoishi Pass, completing three laps of a loop course, and finishing in Minamiaso, renowned for its stunning scenery.
• 10/13 (Sun.)
• Route: Minamioguni Town (Senomoto Rest House) → Ubuyama Village → Aso City → Takamori Town → Minamiaso Village (Minamiaso Village Office)
• Distance: Approximately 108km

Fukuoka Stage
A fast-paced loop course starting from Okagaki Sanry-Ai, completing nine laps with views of the Genkai Sea, and finishing at the World Heritage Site, Munakata Taisha.
• 10/14 (Mon., hol.)
• Route: Okagaki Town (Okagaki Sanry-Ai) → Munakata City (Munakata Taisha)
• Distance: Approximately 141km
