US-Japan Space Cooperation Symposium on Space Debris

The American Consulate Fukuoka is hosting the US-Japan Space Cooperation Symposium on ‘space debris’ at the Fukuoka American Center on Friday, January 25. As explained in the attached Japanese-language program, issues related to space debris will have much bearing on our daily lives due to our increasing reliance on satellites in the orbit – such as for GPS and weather forecast. Learn more about the issues, with lectures by professionals in the field from institutions including NASA and JAXA and Kyushu University. There will be simultaneous English/Japanese interpretation. The first 100 applicants will be able to attend the symposium. To apply please email FACprogram@state.gov by Jan 24.
