Orchestra music fans, film buffs and Godzilla groupies alike will enjoy this opportunity to hear the score of the original Godzilla (1954) performed by a live orchestra. First there will be a discussion between Shiro Sano (popular actor and huge fan of Godzilla), Fuminori Shinozaki (principal concertmaster of NHK Symphony Orchestra) and conductor Kaoru Wada. Then, Shinozaki, together with the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, will perform “Rhapsody Concertante for Violin and Orchestra”, penned by Akira Ifukube, composer of the original Godzilla soundtrack. As the climax of the evening, the audience watch Godzilla whilst a live orchestra plays the soundtrack.
