With the recent craft beer boom, there are now many places to enjoy craft beer in Fukuoka, but Asunaro Brewery is a rare brewpub where you can drink the beer made on-site. Owner Shingo Murai studied abroad in Germany and visited more than 100 countries as a cabin attendant. “The more beer I drank, the more I wanted to make my own,” says Murai. After training in Germany, he returned to Japan to obtain his brewer’s license and open his brewpub in November 2018. Try the fruity, hoppy Chiyo Ale—a pale ale made from 99.9% malt. All beers served in imperial pints (568 ml).
Menu (tax incl.): Craft beer ¥850 (568 ml) / ¥500 (half), bottled German beer ¥750, edamame ¥350, mixed nuts ¥350, sausage platter ¥700 *no table charge
