The Yakuin-Shirogane area has developed a well-earned reputation as a coffee shop mecca in recent years, and this spring, another player joined in the fray: Good up Coffee. Owner Shuji Shibata runs a cozy shop that seats only five or six and only uses top quality beans sourced by local specialty shops. Enjoy a creamy latte or an aromatic hand-drip coffee. Don’t miss Shibata’s trademark toast with anko (red bean paste), ¥500. The bread is sourced daily from a popular bakery nearby, and the homemade spread is not too sweet. Shibata, a former backpacker, can also speak some English.
Menu: Drip coffee ¥450, iced coffee ¥500, latte ¥500, strawberry latte ¥550, Americano ¥450, toast w/ butter ¥400, toast w/ anko (red bean paste) ¥500
