At Tagyu, a favorite of many local residents as well as foreign tourists, you can enjoy high-grade meat for reasonable prices. Lines form for the first floor, which serves up yakiniku barbecue courses, because they don’t accept reservations, but you can reserve Kuroge Wagyu beef sukiyaki, which is served on the second floor. Big cuts of soft meat are prepared for the sukiyaki, which you sear in a tangy broth before dipping in a raw egg and devouring. Other select dishes include the Kuroge Wagyu beef steak (limited to just seven per day!) and Kuroge Wagyu shabu shabu.
