Due to the the later than expected blooming of sakura trees the Fukuoka Castle Sakura Festival has been extended 6 additional days until April 9. It was originally scheduled to end on April 3. The sakura illumination (entry fees required in some areas) as well as the gourmet yatai and BBQ food stalls will stay open during the extended period. On the weekend there will be volunteer sakura guides and special staff for foreign tourists.
