This guide features pools with easy access from central Fukuoka, along with information on operating seasons, facilities, fees, and transportation. Using Public Pools in Fukuoka City
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, Fukuoka’s public pools request the following from all visitors:
• Please refrain from visiting the facility if you’re experiencing symptoms like fever.
• Disinfect your hands upon entering the building.
Before you visit, remember to pack the essentials as rentals are not available. You’ll need a swimsuit, swimming cap, goggles, towels if required, and a bag for your shoes.
On-site facilities include a shower room, an observation room, and coin lockers available for ¥30.
We also have some rules to keep in mind:
1) Infants under the age of 1 are not allowed to swim.
2) Please don’t bring makeup, hairdressing products, mobile phones, cameras, watches, or books to the pool.
3) Taking photos within the pool area is strictly prohibited.
4) Electronic devices, even those that are waterproof, are not allowed in the pool.
5) The use of soap and shampoo in the shower room is not permitted.
6) If you have tattoos, we kindly ask you to cover them up.

Fukuoka City Nishi Public Pool (Nishi Ward, Fukuoka)
Reopened in 2021 following a major renovation, this is Fukuoka City’s largest municipal swimming facility. It features 50 m and 25 m pools, along with a children’s pool, making it suitable for everything from lap swimming and competitive training to family outings. Please note that the facility may be closed to the public during competitions and special events, so check the official website before your visit.
